When you know you’ve found your passion
I am a camera trainee with assisting experience, based in the UK (London), with over 5 years hands-on involvement in the camera department. Having also worked in equipment rental companies, I have an in-depth understanding of the camera and lighting department. I am enthusiastic about utilising my skillset, passion, and ambitions in the next project within the dynamic and creative industry of film production.
From focusing to loading, and even operating, I cover every level of assistance required of the camera department. Enhancing the art of visual storytelling for the Film and High-End Television industry as well as the corporate sector with a technical and friendly approach, while upholding the creative integrity. With a continually growing portfolio of work, including shows for the BBC and Apple TV.
Fused at the core of the filming process, the camera department is a unique mass of technology, creativity, equations, and precision. This is often where you will find me, amongst the paraphernalia of cameras, lenses, filters, tripods, and other accessories that make an image dazzle. Motivated by my interests in technology and passion of creativity, the camera is my go-to medium for storytelling and has been at the apex of my conversation for well over a decade.
An early curiosity in photography, with my grandfather’s film camera and darkroom, has continued to grow and develop with an equal interest for both the mechanical aspect and the artistic expression of still and moving images. The thrill and risk of film photography will always be a unique fascination for me, having spent countless hours under the red-light of the darkroom. This fasciation has manifested into my day to day life, where it continues to thrive.
